If time could stand still...
Have you ever wished you could freeze frame the entire world except for you? I'd like to call everything to a halt, and have several days, maybe even a week or two, since we are dreaming anyway, to catch up and simply catch my breath! Rest a day or two and try to shake this vicious cold that has gone way beyond annoying by now! Maybe even take time to see my family physician to make sure I don't have a sinus infection or pnemonia (I'd have to free her up temporarily then refreeze her! :-)). Then I'd straight away get to work and clean my house top to bottom - you know the kind I mean, the deep "spring cleaning" type or the "we're moving" kind of hoeing and throwing! Then I'd be ready for the team of friends from our church who have volunteered to help us paint through our house before our daughter's wedding (less than 4 weeks away now but I am not hyperventilating,YET!). I'd work on my courses that I'm taking as part of my pursuit of ministerial ordination. This I need to do before my interview with the District Board of Ministerial Development on May 4! (no pressure!)
Having done all that, I would maybe leave the rest of the world in its state of suspension for just one more day so that I could simply enjoy it! Do anything I wanted! Doesn't that sound positively indulgent! Then, I would pause, ever so briefly, sighing with satisfaction, before setting the world back in motion.
But, since time is fleeting as I write, I best get going on my long list of "To Do's"
